Accessibility statement

For the fire door app at app.ukfdcs.com, provided by UK Fire Door Compliance Services Limited.

Using the app

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this app. For example:

  • pages work on screens as narrow as 320 pixels, so you can zoom in without scrolling sideways
  • results and statuses are written in words, not shown by colour alone
  • photos that open full size are described for screen readers
  • you're warned a minute before being logged out for not using the app, and can choose to stay logged in
  • a door's code can be typed if the camera can't scan it
  • inspection answers save as you go, so nothing is lost if you're interrupted

How accessible it is

The app is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, level AA, because of the things listed below.

  • PDF reports, certificates and building logbooks are not "tagged" PDFs, so screen readers may not read them well. The same information is shown on the app's pages.
  • Carrying out an inspection needs photos to be taken with a phone or tablet camera.
  • We have not yet finished testing with keyboard only and with screen readers.

Problems or feedback

If something in the app is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, please email info@ukfdcs.com and tell us which page and what the problem is. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.

How we tested

This statement was prepared on 18 October 2026. The app was last tested on 18 October 2026 by Fire Door Compliance Services Ltd, with automated checks (axe-core) against WCAG 2.2 level AA on the main pages for every type of login, on phone and computer screen sizes, and on the inspection screen.
